Born            Johnny  Lee Franks In Dallas Texas was influenced to play guitar at an early age by his grandfather Gerald Batson ,and a cousin David Costlow who used to have a Band in the Dallas area called "Razeincain" as well as other other relatives that played guitar in his family. Johnny lived the first part of his life in the Dallas area untill he moved to the Waco area as a teenager, to live with his Grand mother Lucille Brooks. " I used to drive her crazy learning to play smoke on the water all day long, she only once asked me to learn another song. "You know when I was growing up their was always someone who played an instrument in my family also my uncle ,Danny Brooks who still to this day keeps me hip to whats good to listen to in music, but over the years we've gone from Black Sabbath to Guy clark".Some of my guitar heros have been Joe Perry Steve Miller Eric Clapton Pete anderson, and My Homeboy from waco Texas the late and great  Eddy Shaver, me and eddy hit it off right off the bat , we were so much alike in so many ways I'll always miss him.

Well I just bought a new fender strat. so I feel like  kid with a new toy I just cant put it down.In the words of Rusty Weir " Moma I dont ever want to lay this guitar down" just bought a VOX amp they are great with a Fender amp with it I often go visit my GrandPa Batson and after all these years we still sit out back and toss back a few and pick and Grin he is a good country Singer and was Back in the day. I have to meantion my uncle's David and Curtiss Batson, they are great guitarist's also and we still jam to this day ...we have over 30 years of playin together.
